About

Jackie DanickiJackie Danicki didn’t know anybody when she moved to Cincinnati.

A native of northern Ohio who spent most of her childhood in south-central Ohio, Jackie moved to Cincinnati in March 2007 after a decade living in Europe. Her online work has been praised by publications like Vogue, the New York Times, Allure, and various European newspapers, and she also has vast experience organizing events in London. So upon arrival in the Queen City, it seemed obvious to use the web to meet people and make fun things happen.

The Cincinnati Supper Club and the Cincinnati Salon were both launched the month Jackie arrived in town. Through the blogs for these two monthly events and the offline experiences they spark, a rich collection of interesting people have been connecting with one another ever since.

After several months of loving life in Cincinnati, Jackie decided that she wanted to help others to plant roots in the city. This is a slight change from her work as a freelance writer and business consultant, but not such a shift from her role in Europe for a Swiss company, helping HR departments to manage their expat employees. As a member of the marketing department at that firm, Jackie gained important insight into how the soft issues surrounding new assignments are often neglected in the face of more concrete pressures.

Have you found a good school for your kids?

Does your spouse have any friends in your new community?

Found a reliable babysitter yet?

Do you know which local restaurant to hit when you’re missing the killer felafel you used to get back home?

These soft issues, of course, are the ones that often make or break an assignment.

Jackie made friends through her blog and the events she organized, but could see how difficult it otherwise might have been. If you’re struggling to get to grips with life in Cincinnati, or you have employees who could use the extra attention that will ensure they stay here, get in touch.
